Assessment Three Steps 7-9

Last Step Guys!!!!

Spreadsheets uploaded to steps 7-9 feedback moodle page.

Word document in same area, WordPress isn’t letting me attach any documents here? Anyway look for my name there and you’ll be sure to discover me!

While I’m here I’ll quickly jot down my thoughts on steps 7-9.

I found I didn’t struggle too much with ratio’s (Having said that I’ve probably got it all wrong). I found my days of inventory and ordinary shares issued fairly easily. My shares were already set into millions so I didn’t have to worry too much with changing that around. I had to pause Maria’s video and go back several times to get a clear understanding of some concepts but I feel I understood the most important ones.

Economic profit also seemed fairly straightforward, I definitely struggled more with the theory component, just writing down every as I understood actually took a lot of brain power and left me feeling pretty numb. Eventually I got through it.

I actually found the Capital Investment Decision one of the hardest parts! I seriously struggled with coming up with two new options, estimating appropriate figures and then justifying them. I figure I’m not made out to be a stock broker! I felt like I spent just as much time on this step as the ratio’s. Anywhoo we’re all done! Hope everyone has an easy summer ahead of them, it’s going to be a hot one!

My Three Top Blogs

  1. April Innes

When I first went to April’s blog I connected immediately and thought a woman after my own heart! Living in a small northern town in North Queensland I found myself relating to April immediately. On a professional level April was able to clearly introduce her firm and explain some interesting points of view, expressing her research of the company especially after the confusion of finding her company had a complete change in direction with a name change to top it off, and yet she still managed to do her tasks in a way that made sense to me.

  • Sammy Jo Clare

My Company

Sam has managed to make her blog and navigation around her blog easy and seamless, a mission I am still trying to defeat. Apart from the looks of her blog, Sam has managed to include a great amount of detail and info on her company HeidelbergCement. Introducing some interesting points that I would never have known previously. Sam speaks in a way that is clear and engaging.

  • Kevin Bingham

https://kev1stdayaccounting.home.blog/

I was first attracted to Kevin’s blog due to the automotive aspect, after all I can appreciate the product Kevin was describing. He wrote clearly and with an engaging attitude, showing aspects about his company that clearly showed he had done his research. He also managed to make an easy to use blog, I found I had no frustrations whilst navigating his pages.

GSK

GSK

GSK is the sixth largest pharmaceutical company in the world with household products such as Panadol and Sensodyne. Here is a link to GSK home page where products and services can be found with ease: https://www.gsk.com/en-gb/ . The company may not be easily recognised without another glance however GSK has definitely made an appearance in your life at some point, maybe for better or worse. With many controversy’s and scandals involving Fraud and bribery, the company doesn’t quite cover up the black spot’s in its history. I’m both glad and disheartened I got this company. Glad because I have all the information about the company I could ever need and disheartened because GSK has had to pay billions of dollars to escape the law from malpractice which doesn’t settle well with me. Here is a link leading to a news article that explains the controversy in more detail: https://www.drugwatch.com/manufacturers/glaxosmithkline/ However I’m interested in hearing some other student’s opinions on the medical giant and happy to provide feedback to others.

The Journey Begins

Beginning this Uni course excited, nervous and ready to progress my career. Hoping everyone does well in their individual endeavours.

“It’s okay that you’re not who you thought you would be”- Unknown

I’ve chosen this quote as it resonates with me. I know I changed my mind about what I wanted to be when I grew up about a thousand times so now that I’m grown up what to do? So I chose something that will help me no matter what I choose.
